Background:

Dating sucks. Especially the online variety. Strangely enough, the last time Cupid scored a direct hit, it wasn't the result of my kick ass profile, more a chance meeting in the fruit and vegetable section of a local Publix. Yes, nothing says "I want you" more than a stolen glance over the top of the organic cucumber display.

Handsome / Cute: Depending on whether or not you're over 40 or under 40. As in when your mother's friends proclaim "Why Cath! what a handsome young man David has grown into!"

Smart: Mr Brain is there and he's working just fine thanks.

Height: 5 11. Technically 5 10 and 3/4, but why would I round down to 5 10? That's almost an inch I'm giving up, and as my other gay friend says, "Dave, that's practically the difference between ooh and aah...". And believe me, he should know.

Weight: A steady 180 for the last 5 years. An Irish girl in NYC once told me I had "just the right amount of meat on me bones". I've since learned that this is something you should never say to a woman.

At the tender age of 18, I ventured across the country to attend college in Southern California. It was on the whole a wonderful experience. During that time I drove across the country twice, the second time completely alone. I highly recommend it; it was an amazing experience. It taught me how amazing long drives without any set destination are, they are quite relaxing and allow me an opportunity to unwind and reflect on issues at hand.

I was a military brat, and as such, I moved around quite a bit. I rarely stayed in one place longer than a year. As a child I learned how to make friends quickly and adapt to new situations. My nomadic childhood also instilled in me a sense of wanderlust. I like moving and get restless quickly.

Okay, my childhood aside, I am a singularly nice and congenial fellow, in the traditional sense. By traditional sense I mean that I act like a gentleman and subscribe to modernized form of chivalry, a modern day southern gentleman, if you will. I consider myself fairly well rounded in my knowledge and I enjoy learning new things and having interesting conversations about a wide variety of obscure and esoteric topics. My favorite topics tend to involve politics, religion, philosophy, and the future. You grow up in Wisconsin then move to Georgia with your folks. You remain a Yankee by accent and leftist leanings but have lived in Dixie longer than anywhere now and believe in having a sense of place. It IS an interesting place if you look at it right. I'm a 25 year old recent graduate student with a bachelors degree in architecture. Now that I am free of the late crazy nights in studio during school, I am currently working as an associate architect at a Atlanta firm that specializes in designing HUD (Housing and Urban Development) houses. I am a very compassionate person who always tries to see the best in any situation or in any person. People who know me often describe me as a person who is always willing to put the well being of others before himself. I enjoy contributing my time to volunteer work and contributing back to the community and those who are in need.

I am a very outgoing guy who enjoys spending good quality time with family and friends and am always willing to meet new and interesting people in life. I consider encounters with people as a way of contributing to who you are and expanding on your knowledge and background and personally value being in the company of a diverse group of people.

I consider myself to be a very artsy individual and likes spending time wondering through various festivals in the Atlanta area. If you're interested in any festivals, I know of plenty so feel free to ask. I love film and photography and spending nice days outside on photographing the city scape. I am also very adventurous and enjoy exploring, whether that be the city or out in the wilderness. I have a very eclectic taste in music and enjoy playing around on my violin. I recently invested in turntables and am now venturing into the realm of music mixing.

I enjoy living a healthy lifestyle and spending time being active. When the weather is nice, I particularly enjoy running...this has a funny story behind it too so if you'd like to know just ask! I have also been a vegetarian for two years now so if you enjoy a good vegetarian cuisine, I know of a lot of great places around Atlanta. I like to indulge myself in cooking and like trying out new recipes. My favorite food, despite being Asian, is a tie between Italian or Mediterranean.

I think one of the most important things in life is to open yourself to new learning experiences, but while doing so having fun as well.

I hate taking things too seriously, myself included. I surround myself with people I love and who love to laugh. I drink a ton of coke, but I have no vices. I go to school around here, but I'm moving to Atlanta in a month or so.
I spend a lot of time with friends, and I really enjoy just hanging out. I'm not one for needing to do something all the time. I'm okay with whatever, as long as the company is good.

I feel like I'm writing a book report. If I were to summarize myself, I guess I could throw together a string of loosely correlating adjectives that could describe the way most people like to think about themselves, which prove to be spot on about 85% of the time. The fact is, everyone is OK but not necessarily OK for each other. I always hear guys and girls talk about their significant other being "cool, except for this one thing", which, out of the context of an already established relationship would qualify someone as being severely "not cool". A couple of months is not usually enough time to really get to know someone and appreciate all of their idiosyncratic behavior. You just get to know them better and find points of intersection between your respective personalities. I like people... a whole lot! I believe that mutual respect keeps friendships and relationships going. If you find your personalities don't match in significant ways, you are probably better off being friends. As long as people are considerate, there's no reason to whine and cry about anything. Good life: Love, sex, happiness, work, play, feeling good, doing good, doing bad, getting away with it, and sleeping well afterward. I work at a law firm as a Senior litigation paralegal. My undergrad education is in Psychology and Business. I am currently going through the law school admissions process. My career goals include being a lawyer and hopefully becoming a Judge someday. My hobbies are Cars, UGA football, touring new museums, random traveling, informational reading, anything adventurous, I love an adrenaline rush. Well where do I start this thing? I'm a hard worker with big dreams and a big future ahead of me. Some people upon first meeting me may see me as a bit of a loner but if you take the time to get to know me, you'll find that I am a very fun loving, exciting, and cool person to be around and I that loves being around good people. I will say that I'm a psychology major. It seems like once people find that out, they either thing I'm psychoanalyzing them or that I have all the answers to life's biggest problems. The trust about that is...well I'm not going to even lie, I probably am psychoanalyzing and there's the slight chance that I do know the meaning of life, lol. From what I hear I have a pretty good sense of humor but I'd rather you be the judge of that. I don't try to be funny, it just seems to happen. I can be a bit sarcastic at times and over the years have found that I have a bit of a dark wit. Take that how you want it. I like for the people I include in my life to be honest with me and with themselves. You don't have to fake it to make it. I enjoy life for all it has to offer and I enjoy getting to know new people.
